Building the local
Don't hold your breath
In the past, the ancient city of Krakow was known as the capital of Poland. In 2000, it became known as the official European Capital of Culture. Now, it is known for having some of the most polluted air in Europe... The city has been rated amongst the most polluted in the world in a World Health Organisation (WHO) study. In the report, Krakow was ranked 8th among 575 cities for levels of PM 2.5 and 145th among 1100 cities for levels of PM 10.
The Importance of Public
Education in Air Pollution Control
Educating young children about the environment and how the choices they make impact air quality is critical to achieving and maintaining lasting improvements.
So we gathered all ideas and design Smok app to educate students about the importance of clean air and empower them to help solve the air pollution problem in Cracow City and become the next generation of environmental stewards. Smok app was designed around the idea that our actions impact air quality in both positive and negative ways.
So what's next?
In order to achieve that goal, we designed a series of educational games for the youngest audience, a captive portal for tourists who use city free wifi and educational website for locals.
The project for an awareness campaign about the threat of air pollution was appreciated and was part of the exhibition "Wydział Sztuki w Mieście, Krakow 2015"
